  • Don't be a flake and bail out at the last minute.

  • Crew Assignments and Call Times are posted to the ROP Call Board. 

  • All crew must sign-in at the Call Board in the BCA scene shop.

  • Tech crew check-in with your Stage Manager.

  • Ushers check-in with the House Manager.

  • Do not leave your assignment or the building unless you check-out with your Manager.

  • Sign-out at the end of the call.

  • Each of you must follow the direction of BCA staff and policies.

ROP STUDENTS START HERE:
25 Hour Requirement and Work at the BCA


If you are in PERFORMING ARTS or SPORTS activities after school, this may be VERY difficult for you to fulfill your 25 hours. By filling out these availability forms, you agree to the terms and procedures below. Please read the following carefully. Contact Mr. Wardell if you have questions or need clarification.
 

OVERVIEW
A requirement of the ROP Theater Occupations class is to work at least 25 hours outside of class on theatrical productions. We offer many opportunities to gain live production experience at the Bonita Center for the Arts, in San Dimas. All students selected will be representing the Bonita Unified School District and must exhibit professionalism, responsibility, and ability to follow directions. Students who earn high marks in follow-through and teamwork will be eligible to participate in additional opportunities. Inability to perform your assignment will result in a drop in grade and will limit your work opportunites. These are unpaid assignments, so consider your grade as payment.

 

SIGN-UP PROCEDURE
Before you sign up to work an event, check your schedules of other events you have comitted to. (I'm speaking specifically to you PERFORMING ARTS or SPORTS people.) Do not "double book" yourself to be at two places at once. Click on the link of the event you are interested in working. Fill out the form completely. A completed form is not a guarantee to work. Past perfomance, availability, and skill set are factors in being selected. You will be notified only, if you are selected, by text message and e-mail. If your availability changes, you may be selected as a substitute.If selected to work, you will be assigned a role and a supervisor who will help you to learn as you go.

 

NOTIFICATION

After crew assignments are sent out, a confirmation reply is mandatory to be eligible to work on the production crew. Assignments will be given to the next eligible student if confirmation is not given within 48 hours. 

FOLLOW-THROUGH

If you cannot fulfill your obligation, it will negatively impact the production. All of our assignments are essential to the success of the production. You must notify Mr. Wardell if your availability changes to allow time to train a replacement in your absence, if possible. Any changes in your availability after receiving confirmation will result in a drop in grade. If you "bail" at the last minute, you will not be eligible to participate in a production role for the remainder of the semester. We always need good ushers. In summary, you must attend all rehearsals and shows during the entire run of the production.

Crew Assignments and Call Times are posted to the ROP Call Board. All crew must sign-in at the Call Board in the BCA scene shop. Tech crew check-in with your Stage Manager. Ushers check-in with the House Manager. Do not leave your assignment or the building unless you check-out with your Manager. You will each have a checklist of items to accomplish each day. Stay on-task and support the production to the best of your ability. Each of you must follow the direction of BCA staff and policies. 

THE BCA "LOOK"

Tech Dress:

Dress Blacks - Black top (long sleeves preferred), black bottoms, black shoes, no logos, no jewelry.

Usher Dress:

Black and White - White top (button-up preferred), black bottoms, black or dark shoes, no logos, no excessive jewelry.

Currently scheduling students to participate in these events. All dates, including rehearsals are listed in the availability form above. Submit availability EACH MONTH to be considered for crew.
